How our meetings are run.
These are the rules for our meetings. They say who can speak, how votes are counted and how long a meeting can last.
Meetings are open to everyone. There is a fifteen-minute slot near the start where any resident can speak for up to three minutes.
The agenda goes up at least three clear days before a meeting. The council cannot make a decision on something that is not on the agenda.
A decision needs more votes for than against. If the vote is tied, the Chair has a casting vote.
The Clerk writes the minutes. They are a draft until the council agrees them at its next meeting.
